| Abstract;RNA localization plays important roles in processes of development and differentiation through polarity formation in cells. RNA localization in Drosophila and Xenopus egg cells is essential for the formation of body axis, germinal layer, and reproductive cells. In addition, various RNA localization phenomena including budding processes of neural cells and yeasts have been reported. Zebrafish, which authors are utolizing for experiments, has recently been clarified that localization of maternal mRNA works as control system for oocyte maturation, and the processes of reproductive cells formation. This article outlines present states of research on physiological roles, and molecular mechanisms of RNA localization. |
