| Abstract;RNAi is the phenomena to be brought about decomposition of homologous intrinsic mRNA by double strand RNA(dsRNA) introduction. During the process of elucidating molecular mechanisms of RNAi and its similar gene silencing phenomena step by step, they have been clarified to be preserved evolutionally in various eucaryotes. These gene silencing phenomena are considered to be the reactions reflecting defense mechanisms against virus and transposon. The mechanism which is partly common to RNAi's is used for the control of developmental phenomenon mediated by small molecule RNA. Referring to these knowledges, applied technologies of RNAi for the suppression of gene expression in mammals have also been rapidly developing. |
