Abstract;Three cases of traumatic isolated rupture of the subscaplaris tendon are reported. The mechanism of injury is contusion at posterolateral side of the shoulder in 2 cases, and hyperextention of shoulder in 1 case. Diagnosis of isolated rupture of the subscaplaris tendon is possible by clinical findings and MRI imaging studies. In operation, we confirmed the avulsion of subscaplaris tendon from lesser tuberosity and rupture or defect of rotator interval capsule. At operation, we repaired the ruptured cuff with closure of rotator interval capsule. (author abst.)
