Abstract; In this study we propose a group sequential procedure for two-sided test intended to test the superiority and the inferiority between two treatments evaluated by bivariate normal response. We use the statistic derived by the approximate likelihood ratio method proposed by Imada-Douke (2002) for testing at each stage in our group sequential test. We construct the repeated confidence boundary at each stage and the power of test in our group sequential procedure by using the recursive formulae of numerical integration. We investigate how the power of test is influenced by correlation coefficients through the simulations. (author abst.)
