Abstract;Study and development trend of an ultra-high sensitivity compact imaging device is presented. A compact imaging device employing a HARP (High-gain Avalanche Rushing amorphous Photoconductor) film based on avalanche multiplication and a HARP Hi-Vision (HDTV) camera are introduced. Operation principle of this imaging device and development status of the HARP camera are shown, Further, technical development activities of a next-generation ultra-high sensitivity compact imaging device enabling more generic use is introduced.
