| Abstract; We measured the morphology of posterior corneal surface in 15 myopic eyes before and after laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK). We took two fit zones in the measurement: 7 to 10mm and 6 to 8mm from the center of the cornea. There was no difference in the posterior differential elevation map between the two methods. We also performed similar measurements in two healthy persons on four different days. There were greater fluctuations in the measured value when the fit zone was set at 7 to 10mm. This finding seemed to be due to inaccuracy in measuring the peripheral cornea and to influence by eyelid or cilia. We advocate measuring the fit zone of 6 to 8mm in such instances. (author abst.) |
