| Abstract;Ketamine is an intravenous anesthetic with an anesthetic action and a strong analgesic action; it was used as a general anesthetic in the operation.The NMDA(N-methyl-D-aspartic acid) receptor and the ion channel are involved in its mode of action.In the meantime, it is recognized that ketamine is useful as a therapeutic drug for neurogenic pain and cancerous pain.None of the administration pathway, the dose, and the administration period of ketamine has been established; various methods are being used.The present state of the ketamine continuous infusion therapy was introduced.The following were explained: Indications, actual methods, explanations to patients, cautions, side effects, and treatment outcomes, regarding each of them. |
