| Abstract;Ketamine is an intravenous anesthetic with an anesthetic action and a strong analgesic action. The NMDA(N-methyl-D-aspartic acid) receptor and the ion channel are concerned in its mode of action.Ketamine is one of the NMDA receptor antagonists, and the application to the chronic pain treatment has been noticed. The oral administration method of ketamine was described. The incidence of effective cases exceeds 50%, when the ketamine test is enforced on the patients with chronic pain.Because there was no internal medicine of the NMDA receptor antagonist which was equal to ketamine, the capsule drugs and sublingual tablets of ketamine were prepared.Changes in the blood concentrations after the administration were nearly identical in both the 50-mg-capsule drug and the 25-mg-sublingual tablet of ketamine. This administration at home or in a long term became possible by the oral administration; and then the pains which had not responded to any treatment could be controlled. |
