| Abstract;Efficacy of preoperative examination for anesthesia as an outpatient was investigated with children that were classified into ASA class 1 at our department. In 22 of 147 children used as the subjects, abnormalities were found. Hematological test, blood chemistry test and urinary test revealed abnormalities in 8, 5 and 9 subjects respectively. There were no children that showed abnormality in X-ray examination and ECG test. Surgery was postponed for 5 children because of infection disease for 4 of them and abnormality in test data for the remaining one. There was no case of complication due to abnormality of test data obtained in perioperative period. These results suggested that the efficacy of routine preoperative test for children is low. |
