Abstract;Recently, we experienced 2 patients who developed severe respiratory distress possibly caused by epidural administration of morphine. The patient of Case 1 was a 79-year-old woman who underwent bilateral arthroplasty under general anesthesia in combination of epidural anesthesia. Respiratory arrest occurred 6 hours after the morphine administration. So, naloxon 0.2 mg was administered and then, her consciousness level was improved after appearance of spontaneous respiration. It is necessary to pay attention to respiratory distress after morphine treatment.
