Abstract; The patient was a 31-year-old woman who had untreated Basedow's disease and bronchial asthma. She was scheduled to undergo emergency styptic laparotomy because of ruptured ectopic pregnancy. General anesthetization was conducted normalizing the functions of thyroid gland with an anti-thyroid and an iodide agent. Prednisolone was IV injected before anesthetic induction. Pulse rate was controlled with administration of fentanyl in addition to prostanglandin E1. Postoperatively, diazepam was given to control pulse rate and blood pressure and favorable results were obtained. Thyroid functions were recovered on the postoperative day 7.
