| Abstract;Operative procedures for breast cancer have been changed. Pectoralis muscle conserving therapy, and breast conserving therapy along with a day's surgical therapy without admission has been introduced. Therefore, it became necessary to take postoperative pain control corresponding to these new methods. In addition, there is a problem of postoperative chronic pain for breast cancer and it might have a large influence on patient's QOL. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, epidural analgesia, patient controlled analgesia through intravenous opioids injection and thoracic paraspinal nerve block are effective for postoperative pain control. It seems important for postoperative treatments of breast cancer patients to improve the prognosis through preventing the progress, i.e., postoperative pain to chronic pain. |
