Abstract; On the patients who received the pharmacotherapy for cancerous pain, the following were investigated: The side effects such as the Vas change before and after the start of meloxicam(M), stomach indisposition, stomachache, nausea, anorexia, and lowered renal function. This time all the cases used jointly opioids. As the result, regarding the degree of pains the Vas lowered significantly from 5.8.+-.2.1 to 3.0.+-.1.9 before and after the start of M.As to the side effects, stomach indisposition, stomachache, and nausea, for which M seems to be a clear cause, could not be recognized.Regarding the renal function also, there was no significant fluctuation in both BUN and the creatinine value. It was considered from the above result that M was a useful drug as NSAIDs used for cancerous pain patients.
