Abstract;The case was a 89-year-old man.For the lumbar spinal canal stenosis, the patient had received the treatment mainly of the epidural block therapy for three years; but the pain of both inferior limbs and the sensory disturbance were not improved.Since the existence of syringomyelia was considered, amitriptyline was orally administered in addition to mexiletine under dose; then, the pain was relieved and the discomfort with the sensory disturbance was improved.
