Abstract;The "bedside volunteer" activity was introduced, so that the similar environment to that before hospitalization as much as possible may be provided for child patients with malignant tumor in hospital and they can return to the life after a release from hospital without any trouble. It is considered that through continued activities for long-term, the volunteer establishes the friendly relationship with child patients, improves the mental stability and QOL of the child patients and provides the same environment as that before hospitalization. Especially the volunteer himself (or herself) who carried out the activity noticed the relationship between himself (or herself) and child patients with malignant tumor through the activity for the child patients and prepared the ethno graphy of this activity which was a result of the fieldwork. In addition, the examination was made on the possibility of such volunteers form in a series of trying to provide the continuity in the life evnironment before and after the hospitalization considering the hospital ward as a place of life for child patients. The cases of male child patients of 13-year-old, 14-year-old, 15-year-old, and 16-year-old were described.
