Abstract;Efficacy of epidural self-blood patch on the pain after dura puncture was assessed and the influence of previous experience of the patch on the subjects who received epidural block again were analyzed. The pain after dura puncture was rated to 3 grades based on the degree of QOL restriction and the accompanied symptoms. Application of the patch was thought not necessary for patients grade 3 or less. As alternative therapeutic methods, transfusion of not-self blood into epidural cavity or peroral chemotherapy/fluid therapy was chosen. Transient appearance of slow wave was occasionally noted immediately after the application of the patch. The rate of success was not influenced by the application of the epidural self-blood patch or not.
