| Abstract; The patient of this case was a 62-year-old man with chronic renal failure who presented with ventricular tachycardia due to hyperkalemia, well responding to Nifekalant. Since the ventricular tachycardia was relieved by its IV injection, it was changed to continuous IV injection at 20 mg/hour. After disappearance of ventricular tachycardia, the administration of Nifekalant was discontinued. For patients with ventricular tachycardia, but no organic diseases causing it, it is important for the first to decrease the blood potassium level. Nifekalant, a kind of K-channel blocker only available for IV injection in Japan was effective for intractable ventricular arrhythmia. |
