| Abstract; The technical procedure, application, anesthetic method and clinical outcomes for epidurascopy (EDS) were summarized. Application of EDS was restricted to vertebral canal stegnosis after the acute phase and failed back surgery syndrome. Anesthetic method for EDS was general anesthesia or under sedative or analgesic conditions in USA. The authors started EDS under slight sedative and analgesic conditions. The rate of subjective and objective improvements for EDS was ca. 80% for 1 week after EDS, 60-70% for one month after and 50% for more than 6 months after. Complications of EDS were occipital headache, pain during and after dura puncture, cervical and nape pains and peroneal paralysis. Since application of EDS is less invasive and applicable to the elderly at a low cost, it was recommended that EDS is chosen before surgical treatments. |
