Abstract; The patient of this case was a boy at age 7 who was scheduled to undergo a radical surgery for bilateral inguinal hernia. For preanesthesia, atropine and opitan were intramuscularly injected. Laryngeal mask was inserted after induction with sevoflurane. After decreasing the concentration of sevoflurane, respiration was detectable but thorax movement was found to be restricted. When the laryngeal mask was pulled to adjust its position, the stem of the mask was cut off, resulting in difficulty of ventilation. After confirming the state of remained mask, anesthesia was kept by the mask. A lesion with slight hemorrhage was noted near the central region of the soft palate, but hemostasis was confirmed.
