Abstract;Emergency surgery for tracheostomy was scheduled for a 58-year-old man with airway stegnosis due to cervical tumor. After sedation with fentanyl and propofol, anesthesia was induced with 8% lidocaine. Anatomical structure of oral cavity could not be disclosed because of marked edema of oral mucosa, but oropharyngeal intubation of the bronchial fiber was conducted, but the structure could not be clarified. Tracheostomy was carried out after intubation of the bronchial fiber through the laryngeal mask. Perioperative anesthesia was made with propofol in addition to local anesthesia. There appeared no trouble during and after the surgery.
