Abstract;The case by 3 kinds of cement-less hip prosthesis, of which the surface structure differed, was compared and was examined. And hydroxyapatite (HA) coating and significance of the surface roughness were examined. Moore-7HA stem, which were able to follow up the over of 3 years were the 22 cases 27 joints ( coxarthrosis of 20, and coxitis of 2 by the ankylosing spondylitis). The PerFix stem was 37 case 38 joint (coxarthrosis of 32, and coxitis of 5 by the chronic articular rheumatism), and PerFix-HA stem were the 54 cases of 64 joints (coxarthrosis of 49, and coxitis of 5 by the chronic articular rheumatism). The 3HA coat was effective for bone-ingrowth-acquisition in the early stage, and to some surface roughness was necessary for the fixing strength maintenance. In PerFix-HA-stem example of use which satisfied these conditions, the bone multiplication was early, and the clinical result including X-ray photography view in postoperative (short term) was good.
