Abstract; The protective effect of Ca antagonist (I) for blood vessel and organ was outlined based on the result of recent large-scale clinical test. It was proved from the large-scale test result that I was a drug which could expect cerebral circulation improvement effect and nerve cell protecting effect, and was a useful hypotensive drug in Japan where there were many cases of cerebral apoplexy. The following results were also introduced : The heart protecting effect of I was inferior to that of the ACE inhibitor, the heart trouble depression effect of both drugs was equivalent, and I was significantly low in the incidence of the angina pectoris. Next, the renal protecting effect of I was explained. As I showed the renal protective effect equivalent to the ACE inhibitor in J-MIND research in Japan, it was proved that I was an indispensable drug for hypotensive treatment considering the organ protection with ACE inhibitor and AII receptor antagonist.
