| Abstract;The action of AT1 receptor antagonist (ARB) was outlined centering on the large-scale test research results. Examination by spontaneous hypertensive rats and result in the essential hypertensive patients were introduced, and it was explained that there was the brain blood vessel protective effect in ARB. And, the research result which indicated the heart protective effect of ARB and the result which showed the renal protective effect of diabetic patients by ARB were introduced, and it was explained that the renal protecting effect at least equal to the ACE inhibitor could be expected. Finally, the blood vessel protective effect through the metabolism disorder improving work of ARB was explained. It was explained that ARB had the improving work of insulin resistance as well as the hypotension and that it was a useful hypotensive drug from both sides of arteriosclerotic lesion prevention and diabetes mellitus prevention. |
