Abstract;Disease state and treatment of hypertension (H) with the disease in the title were outlined. The treatment of H for diabetes mellitus (D) patients was explained, and the desired value for hypotension was explained. The following were illustrated : Therapeutic planning of D associated with H in a guideline in H institute in Japan and a treatment guideline in D institute in the U.S.A. Selection of first alternative drugs and combined use of hypotensive drugs were described, and it was explained that the administration from small quantity was an important point in the combined use. The large-scale intervention test in H patients associated with D was summarized and displayed. Next, treatment of H for renal dysfunction patients was explained, and the desired value of urinary protein was mentioned. From the result of the large-scale intervention test, the ACE inhibitor/angiotensin antagonist was taken up as a first alternative drug in hypotensive drugs. It was explained that the combined use of Ca antagonist became an important strategy, when the desired value could not be achieved in the above described drugs.
