Abstract; The subject in the title was outlined. It was described that AST (I) was examined daily as an index to the failure of hepatocyte and heart muscle and skeletal muscle, and ALT (II) was examined as an index to the hepatocyte failure. Following four items were explained as mobilizing factors other than disease state of I and II : 1) Enzymatic activity measuring method, 2) Physiological fluctuation, 3) Reference value, 4) Pit fall. Next, the fluctuation of Serum I and II activities in the hepatic disease and disease state speculation by serum I/II ratio were explained. Finally, diagnostic criteria of I and II in medical and health examinations were explained. It was described that the measurement of blood I and II was very important for discovery of the asymptomatic hepatic disorder in normal subjects.
