Abstract;In Japan, there are about one million epileptic patients, and 20% of them are considered an intractable epilepsy. Since the selection of appropriate diagnosis and treatment gives large effect in the prognosis, it is urgent to improve level of the epilepsy medical treatment by national level. In this study group, by parting at 3 groups of epilepsy surgery, adult epilepsy and infant epilepsy, 15 researchers advanced the research in the problem independence. It was tried in fiscal 2002 on the integration of evidence which is indispensable in the guideline preparation.
