Abstract; We have developed an improved human-transfer machine used for moving a physically disabled person (client) from bed to wheelchair, or from wheelchair to toilet. In this new human-transfer machine, if compared to the conventional machine, the power required for forcing up/down motion of client was reduced, and a smoother and safe up/down movement became possible. Moreover, a turning movement within narrower space became possible, and it became possible for the client to easily take-off or put-on his or her underwear. Therefore, by this new human-transfer machine, an improvement of the quality of blient's life became possible, in addition to the mitigation of helper's load. Here, the points of this development, bottleneck engineering in the development, and, the construction/specification, etc.,of the developed human-transfer machine, are explained.
