Abstract;Administration with combination of Mulberry Leaves Concentrated Dried Tablet (MLCDT) and Onion concentrated Dried Tablet (OCDT) suppressed more effectively postprandial hyperglycemia and HbA1c levels in diabetic patients than solitary administration of MLCDT or OCDT. Its mechanism is suspected due to collaborative action of inhibition of intestinal .ALPHA.-glucosidase activity and increased sensitivity against insulin. Such combination therapy may be useful for prevention and treatment of postprandial hyperglycemia, which induces aggravation of diabetes mellitus and progression to many complications. (author abst.)
