| Abstract; The so-called Energy Saving Act was revised and enforced in April 2003, in order to reduce energy consumption in the business sect such as office buildings. The primary revised points of the Act and some cases of energy-saving measures in air-conditioning systems are presented. The primary revised points are as follows. 1) Energy management obligation is placed on all types of business, and 2) Obligation to utilize energy most effectively is placed on proprietors of specified buildings. The examples of energy-saving measures for air-conditioning systems are as follows. 1) Highly efficient operation of refrigerating plants by lowering of the set temperature of cooling water, and 2) Reduction of transportation power by adoption of the variable flow volume system. |
