Abstract;The aged Japanese books stored in "The 3rd Human Science Building" of Tokyo Gakugei University are attached by insect pests. We have searched the damage of the old books and identified the species of insect by catching with the pheromone traps and by observing with the microscope. Moreover, we have experimented on the treatments of exterminating insect pests with removing oxygen method. With the result of these studies, we have proposed the simple, low-priced and safety method of storing for archives, with the Oxygen Absorber and the sealing materials. (author abst.)
