| Abstract;A 37-year-old man visited our clinic, complaining of weakness of IP joint flexion of his left thumb that appeared after undergoing an A-V shunt procedure for hemodialysis. Physical examination and imaging studies revealed degeneration of the FPL, FCR and Pronator Quadratus muscle in his left forearm. Tendon transfer of the 4th FDS to the paralysed FPL tendon was performed 6 months after the apperance of weakness of the IP joint flexion of the thumb. HIstological examination of muscle specimens taken at the time of surgery showed neuralgic degenaration. We concluded that the paralysis of FPL muscle was caused by sporadic neuralgic amyotrophy.
