Abstract;Developmental failure of cloning animal using somatic cell nuclear transfer(SCNT) procedures is considered to be the results of abnormal expression of developmentally important genes which is caused by an incomplete reprogramming of the donor cell. However, few studies on molecular analysis of stage-specific gene expression during cleavage progression of cloned embryos are reported. The aim of this study was to identify the differentially expressed genes in early developmental stage of embryos produced by in vitro fertilization(IVF) or SCNT using differential display reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(DDRT-PCR) method. We showed severse differences in gene expression patterns between SCNT and IVF embryos at morula and blastocyst stage. These results indicate that DD method is quite suitable for identification of developmentally regulated genes and potential target genes of future research to investigate their functional role in early embryogenesis of bovine SCNT embryos.
