Abstract;Cloning of animals through transfer of somatic cell nucleus to unfertilized egg is now available for many mammalian species including sheep, mouse, pig, and cattle. However, there are possibilities that genetic lesion including mutations in particular genes occurres during the cloning procedure. In the present study, we examined this possibilities by generating F2 or backcross progeny of cloned mice and whole genome genotyping of the progeny. Consequently, we found no apparent mutation including recessive lethal mutation in a cloned mouse. However, two of seven cloned male mice were sterile. (author abst.)
