| Abstract;Visual information on beef carcass cross sections represented by digital images includes important information concerning meat quality, such as the degree of marbling and meat color. The purpose of this research was to develop a searchable database of digital images with information on the carcass(meat quality by grader, unit price of carcass, name of sire and dam) using PostgreSQL and PHP software and to provide an information feedback system for practical use. Thumbnail images of carcasses are displayed as retrieved data together with BMS number, unit price, etc. The enlarged image of carcass is displayed in a new window by clicking on a thumbnail image. This searchable database can be a very effective system for sire selection and contribute to improving productivity of beef cattle. List of breeding cows was displayed after inputting the ID number of breeding farm and password. It was possible to browse the carcass cross-section of carcass of the breeding cow. (author abst.) |
