| Abstract;There are two types of earthquake countermeasures for private dwellings: earthquake proofing and seismic isolation. Earthquake proofing alone can protect the exterior of a structure, but it cannot protect the furniture and other items inside the structure from damage. Nachi-Fujikoshi has developed a seismic isolation system in cooperation with Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. Through the synergy of bearing technology and hydraulic technology, we have made a seismic isolation system available to the market at a comparatively low price. (author abst.) |
