| Abstract;The results of the meeting of SG13 (multi-protocol and IP-based networks and their internetworking) in the title which was held in Geneva from July 21 to August 1, 2003 is reported. 135 people participated from 23 states and 12 people from Japan. 11 recommendations were adopted, and notable ones of them are 4 as follows; 1) establishment of a project to arrange recommendations for next generation networks to organize them into integrated recommendations, 2) consent of recommendations of service requirements for VPN, one of fundamental technologies of super high speed fiber networks and acceleration of recommendations of related architectures etc., 3) consent of recommendations of Ethernet related maintenance, management and control, and 4) acceleration of related recommendations of MPLS, one of fundamental technologies for backbone network construction. |
