Abstract;We report a case of spontaneous retropharyngeal and mediastinal emphysema. An 18-year-old female noticed that the right side of her neck was swollen. CT examination findings demonstrated air in the retropharyngeal and mediastinal regions. The condition was diagnosed as spontaneous retropharyngeal and mediastinal emphysema. The condition was resolved after four days rest. (author abst.)
