| Abstract;BioSerenTach (BT) was born in 2001 to accelerate the development of DDS technologies innovated by Professor Takada. They are (1) Gastrointestinal mucoadhesive patch system (GI-MAPS), (2) Liquid formulation holding microparticulate system (LFMPS), (3) Colon delivery capsules and (4) Water-insoluble microporous capsule. GI-MAPS is applicable to peptide/protein drugs and makes them available orally by diminishing the two barriers, i.e., hydrolysis by the digestive enzymes and low membrane permeability. With LFMPS, oral preparation of low molecular weight heparin, gentamicin etc can be developed. BT is co-working with several pharmaceutical companies. (author abst.) |
