| Abstract; We evaluated the results of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) enhancement, retrospectively studying 44 eyes of 31 patients who underwent LASIK enhancement from April 2000 to March 2003, with a follow-up of over 3 months. Average uncorrected visual acuity was over 1.0 from 1 week after surgery, and uncorrected visual acuity improved at the last visit in all eyes. The safety index was 1.08.+-.0.16 ; the efficacy index was 0.97.+-.0.23. At last visit, 41 eyes (93.2 %) were within .+-. 0.5 D and 43 eyes (97.7 %) were within .+-.1.0 D. No severe complications were observed. We obtained good results, including good uncorrected visual acuity, with LASIK enhancement. We conclude that LASIK enhancement could be considered if patients who still complain of uncorrected visual acuity with residual myopia or myopic regression desire treatment. (author abst.) |
