| Abstract; We observed a natural killer-like T (NK/T) -cell lymphoma in the left orbit of a 60-year-old male referred to us for left lid swelling that had worsened in the past month. The patient had a history of bilateral paranasal sinusitis, operated one year before. Initially he had good visual acuity and no diplopia; however, CT (computed tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) disclosed a left retrobulbar tumor extending to the paranasal sinus. The tumor enlarged rapidly, with worsening disturbance of visual acuity and eye movement. The tumor was extracted with a Kroenlein operation. Histological examination revealed it to be NK/T-cell lymphoma; however, we could not determine its origin. (author abst.) |
