| Abstract;Horizontal positioning accuracy of GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver is about 10m in a stand-alone positioning. But it sometimes degenerates about 100m under multi-path surroundings like downtown (e.g. Shinjuku Tokyo). The proposed algorithm gives priority to velocity to solve the problem where the positioning accuracy is degraded under multi-path surroundings, based on findings that accuracy of calculated velocity exceeds that of calculated position in such an environment. In this algorithm, the position is derived from calculated position and the predicted position which is computed by using calculated velocity. Field tests confirmed that the positioning accuracy is improved. (author abst.) |
