| Abstract;Sebum is composed of lipids from sebaceous glands and epidermal cells. The secretion of sebum on the skin surface maintains flexibility and protection of facial skin condition. On the other hands, excessive secretion of sebum is concerned with some disorders such as acne and production of lipid peroxide. Therefore, various techniques of sebum analysis have been developed to research about the relationship between sebum and skin surface condition. In this paper, I describe methods of sebum acquisition and measurement, and development of our capillary GC method for sebum composition analysis. This method enables in-depth analysis of sebum amount and composition. As a result, we mentioned that the composition of sebum was related with facial skin condition and seasonal changes.
