Abstract;Construction of artificial metalloenzymes is one of the most important subjects in bioinorganic chemistry. We have already reported constructed artificial metalloenzymes by noncovalent insertion of a symmetric Cr(III) Schiff base complex, which is known as a oxidation catalyst in organic solvent, into the empty cavity of apo-myoglobin (Mb). To control catalytic reactivity, we have designed Mn(III) Schiff base complex based on the crystal structure. (author abst.)
