Abstract; We determined the whole genome of T. kodakaraensis KOD1. The genome of T. kodakaraensis KOD1 consisted of a single circular chromosome of 2,088,796 bp with a GC content of 52%. A total of 2,293 protein-encoding genes emerged from the genome, of which average length was 817bp. The functions of 42% of total genes could be estimated from the primary structures, while 48% of the genes, including 536 genes with no homology against any sequences in the databases, were identified as genes for proteins with unknown function.
