Abstract; In African countries, mobile phones are rapidly increasing instead of fixed communication which has been stagnant. The reason is that foreign capitals and foreign enterprises have made entry into the African mobile phone market as mobile phone needs less investment and brings more returns than fixed telephone systems. As consumers, mobile phones generally receive less damage from political unrest. This article mentions the following countries; South Africa, Botswana, Egypt, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Nigeria and Ethiopia. And, about each of these countries, national power (area, population, GDP etc.), fixed telephone's coverage and its type of business organization (national or private), mobile service's coverage and its type of business organization, and foreign relations etc. are described.
