Abstract;This paper presents the heat transfer performance of an enhanced heat transfer tube called Endcross ECHT19fpi. This new heat transfer tube was developed for falling film evaporators in absorption chillers. Three heat transfer tube types-1) Endcross ECHT19fpi; 2) ECHT26fpi; 3) LFT19fpi (a 19fin/inch lowfinned tube)-were compared under actual operating conditions in an absorption chiller unit. The overall heat transfer coefficient of the Endcross ECHT19fpi was approximately 30% higher than that of the ECHT26fpi and 130% higher than that of the LFT19fpi. (author abst.)
