Abstract; In order to extend the life of injection mold cylinders, the development of new lining alloys with both high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance are necessary. Kobe Steel developed a new lining alloy with hardness of HRC 70 for this purpose. The corrosion resistance of the new alloy is equivalent to existing alloys. This lining alloy will significantly extend the life of injection mold cylinders. (author abst.)
