Abstract; The reprudctive pattern and morphological characters of the light-yellow flowered dandelion were invetigated in the hill areas of the west Ise Plain, Mie Prefecture. By excising the stigma, the dandelion was confirmed to have an apomictic reproductive process. The dandelion examinedd presented unique characters in flower color and shape of capitulum. It was evidently distinguished from Taraxacum albidum by length of cornicle on outer involucral bract, angle of open capitulum, length of ligulate corolla on outer-most flower and length ratio of stamens to ligulate corolla of outermors flower. Compared with T. hideoi in Chita Peninsula that was examined by Serizawa (1986), we could not discern any significant differences in length ratio of outer involucre to inner involucre, in length of cornicle on outer involucral bract, in the ratio of width to length of outer involucral bractand finally in flower color. Thus, the light-yellow flowered dandelion investigated seems to be idential to T. hideoi. (author abst.)
