Abstract;A 54-year-old female presented with visual activity loss and pain in her left eye. She had undergone chemotherapy and radiation therapy for ovarian cancer during the previous 2 years. Her left eye showed hyperemia, iritis and macular fold. Ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging disclosed thickening of the posterior sclera. She was diagnosed with posterior scleritis. The findings improved after three days of pulse corticosteroid therapy, and the ovarian cancer marker for CA125 showed an upturn. The scleritis relapsed 5 months later; her left eye showed bullous retinal detachment. Cure was obtained after one week by the administration of prednisolone and periorbital injections of betamethasone. (author abst.)
