| Abstract;The Kingdom of Bhutan has area almost equal to that of Japan's Kyushu Island and the population of 670 thousand or less, and lies in steep mountain region. The telephone penetration rate, though it has doubled these past several years, is still about 3.5% of all the population. In this article, IT seminar which was held in this country by Bhutanese public corporations concerned with IT (Bhutan Telecom and Bhutan Broadcasting Service) and NTT in October 2003 is mentioned. Moreover communication circumstances and efforts to realize IT society of Bhutan are introduced including the actual state of international cooperation (by ITU etc.). |
